The SmartCode touchpad smart lock with Home Connect technology enables the lock to wirelessly communicate with other devices in home. The lock allows the user (through a web enabled device) to remotely check the door lock status, lock or unlock the door and receive notifications. SmartCode is a one-touch locking motorized deadbolt. With your personalized code, you can enter your home with the convenience of keyless entry and the back-lit keypad provides increased visibility. SmartCode is easy to install, program and use, and operates on 4 AA batteries. It also features SmartKey Security as the back-up keyway. This single cylinder deadbolt can be locked or unlocked by using the keypad or key from the outside as well as the turn button from the inside. The Lifetime Polished Brass finish adds to the traditional look and feel of the product and makes a classic statement.

This actually replaced my existing Kevo, so it was a simple installation of swapping out this back panel. It paired easily to my Home Assistant via Zigbee. The device’s batteries last a lot longer than the August Lock. The back panel is solid, though the black plastic panel is a bit flimsy. Also, the placement of the screw on the bottom makes it challenging to install because the door handle is in the way. I’d prefer if the unit was more streamlined and less bulky, for a better look. Overall, this is a great alternative to other smart locks and retains the existing lock look and functionality from the front.Works great with Home Assistant.
